It’s amazing how long it’s taken me to settle in to my new apartment. My workroom is still a disaster area, though I did some work in it last night. Unfortunately, between that and other projects nagging at my time, I’ve gotten very little done on Siegfried’s armor for months now, it seems. That costume is still on the books, and I do plan on wearing it, but I’m suddenly realizing just how little time there is before CostumeCon, and how much there is yet to do… ho, boy. Oh, and the sword didn’t survive the move. Joy. How many weeks have I spent making iterations on that thing now?

On the bright side, some friends and I went to a place called iFly SF Bay over the weekend, which is a vertical wind tunnel – in other words, an indoor skydiving facility. We were there for a training session, which was two trips into the tunnel after watching a video and learning about hand signals and such (since there is no way you could hear the instructor over the sound of the wind and through your helmet/ear plugs). It was tons of fun! I think everyone in our group is looking forward to going back, especially so we can get into the more advanced moves and such.

UPDATE: Here’s that YouTube video of me flying in the tube…
