So, I woke up the other day and walked into my living room to discover a new roommate.

He wasn’t the fastest guy around, but he did move, and not really the direction I wanted. Eventually, with the help of a friend, I was able to capture him:

But, I went off to do some other things before I released him into the wild across the street. Unfortunately, he decided that he really liked my apartment, and managed to escape the glass pitcher. I haven’t seen him since, so I have to assume he’s still somewhere around…

I think it might be a garter snake, but there are so many types, I’m not sure. You might want to send the pictures to the people at this web page – they identify snakes, and Texas snakes specifically.

Hey, thanks for the link! Actually, I’m wondering if it’s a diamond backed water snake – seemed like those photos might be a little closer to what I remember. Tough call, though. At least both those options are non-venomous…
